Long time since I posted an image here. I did a recent trip on the Trans Siberian Train and this is one from it. Besides a half decent image it is mood and atmosphere that I am after here. Is it working for you?

I really like the mood, grain, and simplicity of the subject. Compositionally, I would really like to see the photo without the 2 small poles ...perhaps cloning them out would be an option? In addition, I would brighten on the the sky on the right a tad, so as to make the poles stand out even better. Finally, consider doing some soft vignetting around the edges - it makes the eye focus to the subject/center - this would help with the bright sky on the left, as it seems to draw the eye in that direction.

Hmm. Seems like it has potential, but as is, it seems a bit plain. Maybe as a super panoramic or neat sunset. The power lines are OK but not super interesting or different. Sorry to be a bit negative

I like it Tom. It is hard to make powerlines work but I think here it does. Maybe to much grain.Nice. Glad to see you posting again.

Good to see you here again, Tom. I too like it. I dig the sloping power lines matching that of the sloping landscape, and the ominous clouds set the mood. I agree about the two shorter poles...wish they were unseen with just the three as they are, but not a deal breaker. Simple and moody it is.
The grain adds a timeless touch.

It works for me. Nice and minimal. The grain is the only thing that distracts me a bit.

I like how there are 3 prominent poles and 2 minor ones. Connects the image together. Their placement is also great.

Thanks very much everyone for the comments, both positive and negative. To be honest I cannot agree with removing the two smaller poles and as a result losing the effect of the invisible downhill slope in the background. But I have also viewed it with the small ones removed and it all holds up pretty well. I suppose it is a close call.
Perhaps a little too much grain but when I come back to have another look I feel I want it there.

I like the smaller poles. It breaks up the lines in the right place of the image, I think removing the poles would hurt the image.

I love the grain in the sky, I'm not sure what to think of the ground. On its own, it looks way too grainy, but, its needed to ground the image and show that awesome sky grain. Definitely has a classic, vintage feel to it.
