    Night Time Visitor

    Hi All,

I'm brand new to the forum and fairly new to digital photography. I caught this guy walking across the back patio last night when I went to turn off the water. I had my Olympus C-5060 handy in the house so decided to try a couple of pictures. I felt this one came out kind of nice. I haven't been able to get a DSLR yet so had to rely on the Olympus' macro and built in flash. Hopefully as I get more experience and a better camera I'll be able to partake in the forum a little more often. What do you think?

EDIT: The web host wasn't allowing people to see the pic. So I directly uploaded albeit a with a little less quality.

you dont need a better camera to "partake in the forum", hell you could use a disposable and partake with pics from that. And you also dont need experience to partake in the forums, isnt that the idea of the forums anyway - to give you some experience (in the form of critiquing, constructive criticism).

Id love to comment on your shot, but im at a loss of words, because there is no photo displayed. try uploading it again. And dont worry - im honest but im not harsh ;). and i think thats the general idea of this forum.

Sorry about that. I messed up the web link somehow. Here is the pic directly uploaded onto the thread. Hope this works.

that works. pretty cool man! good focus and dof - the water really adds to it. the one thing im not liking in this shot is that the spider is at the edge of the cement so the background cuts off in the top left corner - however thats not something entirely in your control...
