    Reflection...mtb

I took this out at the dirt jumps last week sometime. I like it a lot for what it is, just a different shot. I want to be able to take pictures that people haven't seen over and over again so I am working on it. Thanks for looking.

    Good idea

Of course, using a car mirror to frame a photo isn't a completely original idea. But I think this is the first time I've seen it used to get a dirt jump picture. In like how you're thinking. It's really easy to freeze a rider in mid-air. What isn't easy is to get a rider in mid-air, with a background and foreground that add to the photo. I think the car mirror is a good experiment, although I don't think the mirror really adds ay relevant content or information. Somehow, it should relate to the main subject more and not just be a visual trick. I'm not knocking the photo. It's a great idea. I just don't think it really works as a finished product. It might work in another location or from a different angle, though...

cool idea, but honestly i cannot see how you can do this? did you cut that dirt biking picture in AP and paste it in the mirror cause people do, do that to add effects, its cool but im just wondering and this is the first time ive ever seen this used.

This is straight off the camera.

Thanks for the comments john. I know what you mean, were I just shooting this jump for the first time, the mirror would be nothing more than a distraction. I am just trying to put a different prespective on a dirt jumping picture. Thanks for the constructive comments. I might try some more mirror stuff, I like the way it came out, but I agree when you look at it, its not adding much to the scene, just trying to work with something new.

It's a rite of passage. You have to do it. It's your next assignment. Get to work.

    I'd say.......

    TP,
I'd say you are achieving your goal, by taking mtb photos that haven't been done yet..
    Keep it up!

I like this... the picture in the mirror is a great shot and that blue sky is very pretty... the only problem I have is that building behind the mirror... it doesn't seem to work imo... maybe crop it out.... maybe... and just wondering... what kind of car is that?
