Good subject(s).
I like how you tried to get the light pole into the second one but its too chopped off.
The first one has a centered dividing line between flowers and sky and would work better if that divide were positioned 1/3 one way or other.
The sky and cloud color is good.
The main problem is the light, Looks to have been shot about mid-day and the light is very harsh.
The only time I'll shoot a flower during bright daylight is if it is in shadow. Otherwise I do them in early morning or late afternoon/evening. Otherwise you just lose all the texture and detail. They look fine to our eyes but not to the camera.
You seem to have a good eye so keep shooting.
Yes, probably more to right with flowers but you still have the light problem.
If you could have included where the light comes out of the wall in the second, I think it would have made a better composition.
The second two....I like what you were after in the first with the trail and fence leading the viewers eye. I think it would work better with more trail and less fence but that's personal choice. It looks tilted.
The second one is sort of cool...looks like the ship is right up to the beach but I think there is not enough ship to make it effective.
Are you doing any post processing. I think they all need sharpening.
Just look at large image on your flicker and the ship one looks much better large.
You can post directly to this site at 800x and about as big as you want in the gallery.
I havent done any processing at all yet as i'm learning the camera and the Nikon NX2 set up is a bit daunting for me right now with a 60hr work week but i'll ge there .
Mid day shots really don't work well. Shooting during the golden hours will really help. Plan your subjects in advance when you can according to the direction of the light. Somethings work better in the morning some in the evening. If not planned at least shoot during those times. Harsh, contrastly lighting works good in black and white. Get a good tripod and shutter release as well.
I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..
