I'm new to the critique section of these forums. Here is a picture I took today.

You have taken a good portrait shot here and I like the composition of your subject. This is not my area but you might want to soften the lighting on the right hand side of the picture as the model's eye appears to be a bit burnt. I am not sure if the background colour really adds a lot to the shot, did you try this in b&w? Looking forward to seeing more in future.
