Negative Perception

This is a negative of a couple glass cups that were lying on the kitchen counter. Do you like it?

I really love this one. I don't think I could say anything bad to say. Was this done using film or is this a photoshop effect? I love the look of negative film

I too like it, if you had only noted that it was a close up of a couple of glasses on a counter I would not have known that it is a negative.

Thanks for the compliments. I found that I could get very favorable result with glasses in different lighting arangements. There are alot of different way to manipulate the lighting and make some cool abstracts. This was light from a near by window. God bless all.

I like it very nice, it makes me think hmm what's in those cups though hehe. I thought maybe a different color border, nothing to do with the photo itself of course and probably just me.

It was actually water spots from right after a fight with the spounge and some soap. =) The sunlight through the water made extreme highlight areas and thus the negative made them black.

Not sure why you found my comment funny. But here goes:

By negative, what do you mean?

By negative, I thought you were referring to film negative. On a film negative, especially on a black and white negative, bright spots appears dark and dark spots white. Your photo doesn't seem to be showing that. Unless you're saying the light reflection as shown in your photo shouldn't be where they're now in your photo.

Come on, just load it into your favourite program and invert it.

AE, those dark spots and lines you are pointing out are really bright white glare. Just try what Wombat said and load into whatever your using to edit and invert it back to it's original state.
btw, I like the original, non inverted photo because it offers a smoother more pleasing feel and still has the abstract quality.

I think the problem comes form the glass being transparent, so it's not obvious in the negative image.
Yes, all of those black spots are highlights.
The giveaway for me is the appearance around the edges of the ones on the right.

OK, got it.

Never used that invert thing before. But even the negative looks right. Guess that fooled me.

:-) I'm glad you got it figured out. I didn't intent to be mocking you before I was only thinking it would be cray to explain it again since I had just commented on the way over exposure turns black when inverted. Its all good though.
Gary, I also like the normal version but I felt this was just alittle bit different. I hadn't seen someone do a negative through glass before so I wanted to experiment.and get your oppinion. I have had both of them printed and this one looks exceptionally sweet on Pearlescent paper from Mpix.com.
