Need some opinions on this one...

This image is actually a composite. I just flipped the top image to make it appear as if there is a reflection in water. I am planning to have this printed as an 8x10 tonight but my question is, should I make the two suns line up perfectly vertical or should I leave them as is below? My gut feeling is to leave as is, but I welcome your thoughts.

This is a really cool image. I think you should leave the alignment the way it is. It looks very nice.

Must not have been any wind.

Depends on what look you want. Looks great the way it is, but it is not a "reflection", i.e. reversed mirror image like you would see in a real body of water. Very pretty photo though. Can you make it a mirror reflection? I'm just starting to learn photoshop so I'm not sure at this point.

Beautiful work. I would leave it like it is.

    Thanks Paul, ridgetop and Seb!

Paul, actually, there was wind and many of the mills were moving. Problem was, I was shooting directly into the sun which gave me a very fast shutter speed. Couldn't have captured them rotating without sacrificing the silhouette effect, the latter of which is what I was really after..

Ridgetop, I tried playing with it in Photoshop and giving it a water-like reflection but it really took away from the image, so I left it as is.

I think I will leave it as is. I did try at first to make the suns align vertically, but this seems to give the iimage a bit more perspective.

Thanks for your input. I'm off to the photo lab!!

The major problem is that the part that represents a good photo, makes up a very small part of the frame and you have a mass of negative space with no detail that cuts across the centre of the photo. Making a composite to solve the problem really does not help very much.
A long telephoto or a graduated neutral density filter to bring up detail in the foreground would have been a far better solution.

Gorgeous image schrackman. I love everything about it. The symmetry, the position of the sun, the skies and the reflection.

I think the sun is a little too centered. Other than that, it's a good shot. May I ask, what was bellow the mountain? Was it just all shadow?

Re: Need some opinions on this one...

I realize this is coming late, but FWIW...

At first I was distracted because yes the bottom image is not a mirror. But then I realized that perhaps, along with the unaligned suns, that you intended it to look that way to emphasis that it is not a reflection. I see that had you mirrored it, there would have been too much sky on the right hand side.

Not that it would have been better, but I would have liked to see the split images even more "spread". Slide the top half one way and the bottom half the other.

Looks like a very cool place to shoot.

I like this the way it is because it is so interesting and unexpected. The other way seems too predictable. This is too groovy.
