Natural light portrait

I shot this photo last July, and it was impromptu. My friend was getting ready to go out, and I had my camera in the bedroom. I shot this with a 16-35 2.8L at 16mm, ISO 400, close in, and metered off her dress. In photoshop I added a slight blur filter and a slight "halo" of romantic glow. My own critique is that I like the pose, but should have shot a higher angle. (I would have had to stand on the bed for that). The other critique I have is that I can't believe I got the bathrobe in the shot! It had been in the closet, but she wore it out of the shower and I forgot to close the closet door.... grrrrrrr. It's the little things that you have to look out for!

Interesting shot, agree that the bathrobe is a bit distracting and that a higher angle could help. I am interested in what your subject is looking at and also why her left hand is in the position that it is. I like it that she isn't looking at the camera and the overall result is certainly a nice portrait, bathrobe and hand, those are my points!

It would be failry easy to clone out everyting to the right that you don't like, using the red of the wall at left. It would look like one continuous wall. It seems cropped too tight on the left and right.

The left hand is another problem. The middle two of her fingers are bent and it looks like she is making the "hook 'em horns" University of Texas hand gesture.

The two turned out better. Notice I did close the closet door on these. I had her look away and down, mostly to emphasize her profile and her hair cascading across her face. In the second of the two shots below, I did get up for a higher angle. I personally like the second shot below, but she likes the first one.

I like 'em all. I really like the old feel of the furniture as well. Classic shots.

Also can you tell her, lee from PR says he wants to be "friends" with her as well ;)

Well done and they don't come across trashy; a huge positive given I bet some photos could turn out given the circumstances. The first one isn't too bad, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of her face, same with the last one. It's hard to do with the hair and so on.
