    Natural Design

Using backgrounds as fill color can be an effective technique in expression. Here I used bouganvillia to give the magenta coloring. Using a wide aperature and staying close to the subject gives a nice smooth "fill" background.

Interesting vibrant colours and technique but I am not sure what I am looking at overall here, nothing really captures my eye in the overall scene...

Its just a texture/color study piece. Using nature to find designs for patterns. This is a leaf and bouganvillia as the background. You could walk right by and not see this very easily. Hope that helps you.

I like where you're going with this C Great contrast with the colors. I think the leaf just a hair too much out of focus. I would like to see this showing a hair bit more of the leaf detail, if not bringing the whole leaf into focus. Great choice of colors on this

    Re: Natural Design

Thank you, I appreciate that. Im considering darkening it up a tad, im wondering if that might help it out a little.

I don't think darkening it would help. Personally, I love how "in your face" the brightness and coloring are right now. Though it would be interesting to see side by side how it compares if you do decide to darken it up.

    Re: Natural Design

I think I need to try, the point of the image is to provide texture/color contrast/study. I think the darker version will get that across a little more. Dont worry I wont lose the color

    Re: Natural Design

Oooo, this is better Definitely made that edge "pop" right out. I think I'm leaning towards the hue of the background in the original version though. Just a little brighter/livelier. I love these "simple" shots. Nice work

    Re: Natural Design

I like it very much and think of a set of two versions next to each other, the left one as it is and the right one with the colours/objects/forground/background vice versa, so that one gets a pink/red diagonal stripe.

    Re: Natural Design

Both versions are powerful. The second posting's colors are exactly complementary so I guess it really hits hard. The subject is OK but I think the color is the strongest aspect here. Good technically, and good eye for spoting it.
