    National fair

Just two shots I'd like some advice about. The fair ends in another week, so I can reshoot if all you good people have any pointers. Thanks.

like the first shot. The silhoette in the second is good, but doesn't follow the rule of thirds. If he were moved up and to the right a bit, it would work with me. But otherwise, no.

I too like the first image better. The composition fit's very well with the portrait crop. The reflections in the water are very nice, but I'm not sure that you need that much water to make the pic work. Panning up would give you more empty sky so that won't work either, unless you could get the moon in there or something. Easliy done with PS tho.

It's been done lots of times, but I would try some longer shutter speeds when the rides are moving to get some nice light trails.

Payn, I also feel the first image is best. The vertical frame works well for the scene and leaves a simple, clean composition with no distractions. The second image has the added element of the onlookers but they seem to be too crowded down at the bottom of the frame and to me are more distracting than interesting. Also, i feel the Ferris wheel is too close cropped to the edge
