I'm probly driving you guys nuts posting another pic but this is the first that I actually did any amount of post processing to. Again looking for advice. Thanks to all for being patient with a newbie.

I love how the eyes look on this one...both the light and the expression in them.
As for the PP I would first crop more to the right of the frame, and maybe...just maybe increase a notch the contrast, but as is it has a nice smooth roll-off.

I like how he is looking too.
I'm with Rob on cropping but I'm not sure what he means by cropping "to" the right.
I would crop both left and right sides, eliminating both verticals closest to his shoulders.

This will give you a vertical format which is frequently best for portraits. Go vertical!

As for driving us nuts.....it'll be a short trip and I'm pretty sure quite a few of us are already there.

Sorry I was not clear...I meant to crop to the right of the pic (subject´s left) and eliminate one of the strong vertical lines (some sort of door).

After a second look I´m with Señor Frog...chop both left and right and frame closer to the subject.

I cropped as suggested I think. I think I really do have to get more comfortable shooting vertically just seems a bit awkward right now. I've only been shooting for a week, and only a day with the 50mm

Remember we can only tell you what we would do so be sure to experiment until you find what YOU like.

As for shooting vertical, it isn't really bad. I do it regularly with my D80.
Take your camera out and do nothing but vertical shots for a little time. You will start to see photo ops you hadn't before and expand your compositional skills.
