    My Junior - Andrew (10months old)

    Took this photo recently with Tokina ATX 828 80-200mm f2.8 SD Manual Focus lens w/o flash. Comments and Critiques are most welcome.

    It's a nice enough shot, but I do find the background a tad distracting. He's reasonably sharp but with portraits the eyes absolutely must be razor sharp, and I'm not sure they are here (an exception might be where it's a glamor shot and the photographer purposely softens the image with filters). Also, I might have added a little more area down to place him a bit more.

    You have a portrait in a landscape format and I think the image suffers for it. As GB1 noted, this could use some more of his body in the image.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Cute baby. If I may make a suggestion. Since the background is relatively close to the baby and since it is not a crazy distracting background, you may want to use a smaller aperture such as 5.6. This way the eyes will be really sharp. I find it is extremely difficult to keep the picture sharp at 2.8.
