I agree,Nice composition,Rod.
Great sharpness,love the texture on the barn.I'm not sure about the super saturated color.I do like the contrast of the three though.I guess in this case it works rather well.The open "Z" door adds curiousity.

It seems a little dark to me. I think you should try a channel mixer and levels layer, desaturate the background slightly and try and bring out more texture "pop" in the house, roof. However I do like the darker area in the trees. You might also clone that plastic bucket. I see why you shot from this angle but I makes me want more. Did you shoot any from the other side looking under the porch?

thx PB, Rick and Greg. I have a few more of these. Saturation was straight from camera. The other side was a little cramped but there is a nice tree look. I'll work on them today.

Rod, I'll agree that it's a little on the dark side, but it's not necessarily a deal breaker. I too, like the composition.

I like the comp. The fact that the peak of the roof breaks up into the sky between the trees is a big plus.
I too feel it could use an overall boost to the exposure. The heavy stauration is not my taste, but thats really a personal thing and it can surely stay that way.

I don't know .. I find the darkness of it very nice. I've seen shots of models like this where the entire scene and model are about 1/2 to 1 f stop under. It works sometimes. In this situation it has created a feeling the house being in a deep wooded area even though you can tell it's in a clearing. Nice work. I think I would prefer it having more space above, but hard to tell .. I also wonder what it would be like with an animal or two walking around...

Interesting subject! In the first, it almost looks as though the body of the barn was changed to b&w. I quite like the color contrasts.

Thx ELI and lori...my brother has been up there for about a year on 95 acres. Hes about 10 or so miles north of the ..city?..is small. Its a different feel than down here in S Fla but I'm kinda a country loner anyway.

That second shot is a stronger image because of the lighting and more interesting angle.

I agree with Gary - the second shot's exposure is just great. The first image you posted provides a completely different feeling, not bad but different. The second makes the location look great for a newer house (knock this one one down and use the r.e.!)

I very much prefer #2, the golden hour light is just supreme, only thing is the overhang on the left is a bit distracting.

Maybe angle of #1 at #2's lighting. (Except opposite time of day so the lighting is on the correct side of the building in relation to that angle)
