    My first submission

This is my first submission to this forum. I recently received a Canon Rebel EOS XT digital camera for my bday... took this photo of a magnolia blossom on my magnolia bush at my home.

I like the soft color and how your composition follows the form of the flower. I think a lot of folks will want to see the tips of the petals, but your composition forces us to appreciate the interesting forms in the interior.
Welcome to the forum, I hope you post some more.

Thank you for you critique... I was intrigued by the interior of the flower so that is what I focused on. I have much to learn, and hope by posting on this forum, it will help me a bit.

    Re: My first submission

Efeaker - Welcome to the PR boards btw. I like the shot but also feel that it might be a little underexposed. Personally I think that flowers can look very nice being so, but the shot here might be a little too dark.. Try lightening it up and see. Also, the format of the show where you clipped off the top and bottom areas - was there a reason for doing that? I mean was there something like a sprinkler in the shot that you needed to crop out. The clipping off doesnt do it justice, IMO...

Also - This shot has a lot of potential and you might be able to get several other pictures from this photo. For ex, if you zoom in to just the center, that might make a decent image by itself too. Try it. - GB
