    My first post

I took this today using my Sony DSC-T1.
    I kinda like the colors.
I would appreciate your comments or suggestions.
I hope I sized and attached the file correctly.

    hi there

nice post... I really enjoyed the colors in this and the simplicity of it. the only suggestion (were you handholding/or were you using a tripod) is trying to kep the camera steady and keep all the filaments( pollen stem) in focus and the anthers(pollen thingies ) don't know about flowers but know I do thanks to your post

I think this shot is well exposed and I think this is a good shot and I really look forward to seeing more from you.

other than a little off on the DOF it is really a good close up, might want to bump your F-stop a bit.

    Welcome to the forums.

I like this shot, but as noted it is a little soft. The colors and composition are great though. Look forward to seeing more....

Hi, thank you so much for your replies.
I'm finding that I really like to take macro shots, but my camera (sony DSC-T1) doesn't allow for a tripod . I'm thinking of upgrading my camera now because of that. Maybe looking at Nikon D70 (any comments on that?).
    I'm having fun,,,will keep trying.
    Thanks

I like the colors a lot but agree with the softness comments.
A beanbag is a handy tool to have in your bag, even if your camera does have a tripod socket. Or lean that camera or even your elbow against almost anything to help steady it.

    Good work, keep posting.

It's a super pic with vibrant colours.

Better depth of field would have improved it further... I think if you are looking at a D70 that would be a good choice (or a Canon EOS 10d maybe? I am a Canon user after all!)... a DSLR in conjunction with a good quality macro lens and solid tripod would open up a huge world of possibilities. It will give you complete control over DOF and you can let your creative juices flow!

Welcome,I really like the composition here and how you tried to take this in an unconventional flower macro. As noted by others, the softness of the shot is holding it back. But still nice. On macro shots as close as this, tripods are a must. Looking forward to more.
