You've made a good start. I'll bet that cabin was lost in the weeds in the original. I usually like to see the saturation reduced a bit on this kind of shot so that the colored subject sits within its surroundings better.
How did you do the conversion to B&W? It might be improved with a bit more contrast within the BW areas. I like using the channel mixer method discussed in this tutorial. http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tu...w_better.shtml
I used layers to remove the cabin turned the other photo to grayscale then added the cabin back. I am sure there are better ways but like i said just started messing with PS. Thanks Chunk for the comments!
