    My First HDR

So I grabbed photomatix and this was my first shot. Is it too unrealistic and saturated?

Yes it is unrealistic and saturated.
But that doesn't have to be a bad thing.
I think with this subject it works.

    Re: My First HDR

I agree that it is too saturated.
Whether it is too unrealistic depends on what you want.
Personally, I think it looks like something one would see in a cartoon and maybe Donald duck would look good sitting on the bench.
I don't mean that in a bad way.....its kind of cool.

I agree. Very Disney. But in a good way. I think it works.

The one thing I would watch out for in Photomatix is halos.

Yes I did notice that about the program. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid it?

    Thanks Frog for your input.

This has a very special charm. I like the saturation. It's stylistic.

    Re: My First HDR

it is unrealistic, but lot's of my favorite HDR images (from other people) are usually unrealistic. it is a bit oversaturated for my taste, but i like the overall look of the picture.

I like it as well. It could use a little more space on the left side of the frame.

    Re: My First HDR

I like it with the, as others have said, Disney-like atmosphere. But if you want realism - not on this planet. I also think it leans a little to the left???

And because it's a bit of a pet peeve with me - the post-HDR over-processing has nothing to do with HDR.

Hey man, i like it. it's not as far as some HDRs go. this in my opinion is a good application of the technique.

This is what color is all about -- I am going to learn this HDR stuff, I am, I am!!!

I think you've got the technique down, and I am anxious to see MORE.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
