    My first flower close up

    I think it would have come out clearer if I'd used the macro focus setting instead of the standard auto focus.

    Nice picture! I like the subdued back ground, it reall helps the iris stand out.

    Focus looks right on. Remember, focus is focus is focus - it doesn't matter if its "macro", "auto", or "manual" mode.

    Most people start out shooting this way (straight down). But I think it is unnatural - too academic (textbooks, ID guides, etc.). When shooting macro/closeups, try to image yourself at their level. Image what a bee sees. Let your mind wander...
