Nice set and I think 1 & 5 are just superb,no 1 is especially imaginative

That's nice. I don't find you've used cliche'd poses. You've used your candid technique i.e. working fairly close most of the time with a normal lens.

This actually poses a problem for the improvement that I was going to suggest. I think that on 3 and 5 it would have been better to bring a highlight into their eyes and generally lighten the shadows on their faces, eye sockets, etc. However as you're so close a flash would overexpose the hands, rings and so on that you've got in the foreground. An assistant holding a Lastolite reflector might have been good.

The other thing I notice in almost all the pictures but you can't do much about it - the guys ears are really red from the cold.

A really good quick fix for that is to desaturate the ears so they still have a bit of color but look much closer to the tonality of the rest of the skin.

I like the whimsy in shot 3. In #2, the lack of balance in the crop bothers me a bit- more of his back/coat than hers. I know the rule of thirds forbids that, but for this shot my eyes keep wanting to center the couple.

Congrats, on a sucesful shoot, and a new gig. I think the best ones are 1 & 5 with 3 telling a great story. Perhaps your next shoot will be easier, and maybe you can get an assistant, and a new lens. Great work.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the advice. Sadly, I overdrew my account, and don't even have enough money for the semester, let alone buying a lens. I'll have to wait for summer.
