Well... finally... here it is... my first picture post. It is by no means my favourite photo's, but it is the first film that I got back on PictureCD, so I can start sharing with you all. I still use film, and I even just baught an Pentax Spotmatic to replace my EOS. I am moving backwards in technology for the first time ever !!

First shot, the trillum... does it do anything for you, the tiny DOF?
The second shot is of a daizy, taken in my kitchen with a tungeston lamp.

Both are untouched, except for auto levels, and resize.

I really like the second. Particularly the vibrancy of the red. And I Iike that the background is dark, it helps the red stand out more. The crop is a little different from what you'd usually see, which is nice.

The first doesn't really do anything for me personally. The shallow dof doesn't bother me so much as the whole thing seems a little soft on my monitor. Perhaps just a bit of unsharp mask? It could just be the scan.

I am 100% with Adina on this one.

I like the second a lot due to the colors, the dark background and the creative framing.
The first one is too conventional to my liking and lack shrapness (which doesnt mean that I see it as a loosy shot but it doesnt stand strong as your second picture).

The first shot is a good image. Your framing of it is well done and the red fading off into black at the ends of the petals creates a good visual. I only wish it were sharper, at least the center of the flower.
The other shot I think is not well framed and composed. You have it too dead centered in the frame and also the way you shaot the flower dead on is not a good idea, unless you were to fill up the whole frame with it, then dead on sometimes works in that regard. Also the lighting is flat .just not a great shot, but the red flower is. Keep em coming

I do a lot of flowers and I always try and capture the whole blossum and crop later. Depth of field is the hardest aspect. Your image of the red flower is very powerful. I like the way you have placed the yellow center in the corner so we get a feel of the bloom. The petals are the center of the photo though because of the black background.
