    My dog

Just my dog, thought it turned out ok. When I save these for web, some of the pic gets all messed up like that spot on his back. What is that?

    Eoky,

That "gray" pixely area you are referring to I believe is purely from compression (though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I like this shot, though too tight of a crop again as in your other shot. The DOF is great, especially focusing on the dogs eyes/nose, but I just wish you had included the full dog in the shot.

    Other than that,

    Well done.

Yes, agrre with Jared that the eyes and snout of your dog are very sharp and prominent here. I dont see him being chopped off as a negative, as you perfectly blurred the areas beyond his head so that means that the rest of the puppy was not the subject. I probably would have included his other front paw though. This is a good shot, and unfortunately, I can't even see the spot you're referring too. But I would lighten it up a tad.

I thought it turned out okay, too. Oftentimes, you will find that getting to the dogs level and including all of him in the frame is the way to go. Our natural perspective on a dog is to look down (like you are here) because we are much taller. Getting lower shows us the dog differently and with less perspective issues and is sometimes more interesting tothe viewer.
