    Cool My Cat Suzy

Taken outside in late afternoon. No flash was used. The glint in her eyes is from the sun.

Nice cat, I find the stick in the background over her back distracting.
I agree on not using flash, but it needed a reflector to put a little light into the shadow on her face, I think.
Focus looks good on the eyes, which is where it should be for a portrait.

I think she's precious too. I agree with Paul. It would have lightened up her face a bit on the right, given more luminance to the eye on that side, and lessened the effect of the catchlight that seems to simply float over the cornea which looks a little odd. Also, it would have removed that slight "cross eyed" effect that the lack of light has produced.

I love how the light hits her ears and brings out the texture and pattern of her fur. I also like the background. Those stones lend an unusual color and texture that makes this all seem less than a typical domestic shot.

I like the natural lighting. good sharpness in the eyes. I'm not crazy about the composition, that being looking down at the cat as is most typical snapshot. i agree with Paul about the reflector or maybe very slight fill flash would open upthe shadows on the near side of her face. also, the stick in the bg is distracting, but you could easily remove it in PS.
btw, welcome to the forums and look forward to seeing more pics from you.,
