    My backyars

    Old tree in the yard of the campsite. (Typo in the title as well)

    I think I'd like to see this shot a few steps farther than where you were. Less exposure may work better here, too.

    Its a nice sky view, but the ground presents a rather dull foundation for hte image, detracting from the colors and details of the sky. The edges of the tree going out of the frame hurt this as well. I think it would be a lot better as a horizontal, with less ground in the frame. I see what you were after with the sky, but I think there could be a better way to emphasize that, as well as the silhouette of the tree.

    The problem with the tree was a couple of scrub pines that would have been in the pic to the left. As far as the ground goes, I got the graduated ND filter on order. Can't wait to get it, as the sunsets here are nice. Actually usually better than the one here.

    I agree with the others and the ND grad will help you a great deal. Try and get Lightroom as well. You can really make a landscape pop with Lightroom. Adobe throws it on sale every now and then.
