    My attempt at a common picture (fixed)

    So a few weeks ago i remember seeing a photo like this someplace, so being myself, i just had to go home and try it...here is my attempt:

    The photos in the post have been changed to better the result of the photo. It has been modified in photo shop by changing the levels. Below is the new version, aswell as the previous version.

    Looks like you got them frozen well. I think a lot of people use milk for these shots. Try having only a very thin layer of milk on a saucer, you get a better 'crown' thrown up than using a deeper puddle of liquid.

    Keep trying with brighter lights maybe.
