    My 50mm Challenge

I'm participating in a 50mm lens contest amongst some friends. Shot a couple that I would love some C & C on if you feel so inclined. Thanks!

the second one is pretty cool, and it look like you nailed the focus, except i would have given it a bit more room up top and played with the b&w conversion a bit more.

in #1 the tree on the left is a bit distracting, but that looks like a cool subject

with #2, really good, but agreed about giving it some more room at the top

    #2 is my favorite.

I like No.1 the best. The tree outside is a bit distracting. You might could lasso the door frame and tone it down some with a levels adjustment.

Thanks for your critiques and comments! #2 is not a crop but I do have others I shot at that time so I'll see if I have one with more headroom, so to speak. Also will try some correction on the doorway and see what that gets me and post the results soon.

    Re: My 50mm Challenge

for some reason shot 1 just doesn't work for me. it poses the question though if you are all shooting on digital or some on film. I use my 28mm or 35mm lenses as a 50mm substitute when shooting digital given the conversion factor.
