    Mt. Rainier

I spent my saturday hiking on Mt. Rainier. This photo is one I'd love feedback on. I shoot sports mostly so my eye isn't geared towards landscape. I have definite thoughts on this shot, but would like to hear from other people so I can grow in this area.

    Thank you.

    Hi
I like the water with the reflection and the bottom both in view ,the rock to the right looks nice with the sky reflecting ,Personally the forest to me has to many gaps and makes the landscape look a bit ugly.

I think the scene and your framing is quite nice. What makes it for me is the tall pine in the fg cutting up into the sky and the rock in the fg in the lower right corner. The reflection wrap right around and frame the rock in it's place.Very nicely balanced and pleasing to take in.

    Re: Mt. Rainier

The forest tells me you were quite high up there as does the size of what we can see of the mountains top. At this size the rock at lower right with the color of the bottom and the reflecion of the sky is confusing and thus distracting but I think it will be fine larger.
    Very nice scene.
Where on the mountain were you?

    Re: Mt. Rainier

Thanks for the great feedback everyone.

The bare ground on the left I found a bit disturbing.

Gary, I think you are right about the tall trees. It's where I'm always brought in to the pic.

Frog, we were a mile or two out of Sunrise. I didn't understand why the reflection confuses you. Do you think it would be better if there was more mountain reflecting in the pic? TY!

    Re: Mt. Rainier

It isn't the mountain's reflection which I think is fine. Its the area around your logo where the rock sticks out of the water with its shadow and the light bottom around it that confuses my eye a bit. I'm not sure why and maybe its just my eye and I do think it would not be so bigger. Checked your gallery but didn't see it there. Its a small thing and I like the image a lot.
Also glad to hear you were out of Sunrise as I want to get up there but didn't want too much snow. Looks like its about right.

Thanks for the clarification Frog. I wanted to understand everyone's critiques to the fullest so I can get the most out of them.

I'll put the photo in my gallery.

    Thanks for taking the timing!

    Re: Mt. Rainier

Yup! It does work better bigger and the mountain shows better too.
I like this one, too! http://gallery.photographyreview.com...&ppuser=243616
