    Moving water

I took a trip up north late Monday, got up Tuesday morning and hit the falls. Unfortunately I didn't get the desired effect that I was going for. The falls were too turbulent!! To much whitewater! Here is a few shots from further down river. I am not sure which one I like the best. What do you think??

I like the first three, not really sure about which one I like best, though.

I like 1 and 2. Probably go for 2 because although the water is nocely blurred in both the left hand bottom corner looks blurred in the first picture.

1 & 2 give the best sense of motion, for me anyhow.

    Re: Moving water

I'll vote for #2. The water is nicely blurred, and the highlights in the water are nicer than #1. The shutter speed in 3 doesn't work well for me.

    I like #3
I can see the water is moving fast and the overall picture looks more in focus.
I have to admit I have never been a big fan of super dreamy water. To me it does not look natural.

Thanks guy and gals! That is the hard part for me. Which one actually give you that motion but isn't just a complete blur. #4 was kind of just thrown in there to give an idea of how it looked with almost no motion. Also looking back at it again they look a little dark, Anyone else notice that?? Or does it seem to work for you??

I like them a lot and thank you. Really like the detail of the icicles in the uper left corner. The water looks smooth as creamy silk. cool

Just the time of exposure to the movement of water. Did you use a tripod? I seem to notice a little rough on firm ground

    Re: Moving water

indeed I did use a tripod. I am in no way steady enough to take these shots without.
