    Moscow at night

I stayed out all night on the Summer's Solstice taking pictures around Moscow. Here are some of the better ones, that I've had time to upload. I was borrowing a friend's tripod, so a few of them are a little crooked. Nothing I can't fix when I get home. Let me know what you think. It was my first try at using the manual shutter and aperature settings on the camera. It was a great learning experience.

Thanks. I sent off an order this morning to get a 20x30 copy of the first one. I'm curious to see how it looks being blown up so large. I converted the RAW image into a TIFF. I'll keep you posted.

    Wow! Breathtaking images!
And I always say this to EVERYONE...it would be nice to know what settings you used.

    Re: Moscow at night

I meant to include the settings information. Sorry for the omission. Here it is.

First picture: 8 second shutter, F11, ISO 160.
Second picture: 7 second shutter, F8, ISO 160.
Third picture: 2.5 second shutter, F7.1, ISO 160.

Any suggestions for changing those parameters to get better results? I did take about 6 of each of these, and these settings produced the best photos for each shot.

    Re: Moscow at night

Wow! Very nice, but I've always been a sucker for night shots. These really look sharp. The only area that I dont like is in #2 where the building facade looks a little washed out to me. The bottom shot is also a tad bit crowded, but that's forgivable since that's what it is. Otherwise, very nice.

The top shot is really really pretty. But I would crop off about half the sky above the (approx) center steple's red light. That would be pur-fect.
