It looks like tough lighting conditions! I think you have done a good job with the flash in the foreground. I wish I could see more of that rusty boat anchor in the bottom. The sky in the top left seems a little bright, but I think the lighting conditions weren't favourable for you.

It's still a good photo though. Nice composition and the clouds and wharfs hold my attention as well.

I think it is a very good subject and the angle is working too, maybe a little more at the bottom getting more of the first post in the frame. A two stop ND grad and a tripod would have helped. A little more detail, lighting, in the post and a more crisp shot and this one would be a wall hanger. Certainly worth a re-shoot.

Really nice approach to this jetrim. I love how you framed this shot. it works for me. It's a moody shot that depicts the place perfectly. I really don't have a critique lol. very well done!

More detail if definitely needed, DOF or proper focus is essential for a shot like this with such a strong item in the FG.

I like this one, jetrim. Hard to find beauty in an industrial scene but you have managed.
Hopefull you shot in raw. Could use some fill light.

I like it overall like others have said looks like tough lightning situation. Would be nice if a little more DOF and not quite as soft.

    Re: Morning on the wharf

Well, taking Greg and Abiciriderback's suggestion, I headed to work a little early this morning to stop off and reshoot, although I'm not unhappy with the result, it looks like I need to wait for a morning with a more cooperative sky...

A moody sky works well too. You don't get the colours, but it still holds some character.

I see what you mean about your reshoot. Both nice shots though and both with different results.
I shot all my sea shots at f/22 too.
