    Morning Drink

I caught this old guy in the produce markets in Luang Prabang Northern Laos..He is drinking what seems to be a kind of soy drink..He looks ex-army by the jacket he is wearing..I would have loved to engage in conversation with him and talk about the past..He would have been around when the Pathet Lao (Lao communists) took over in 1975..I wonder what side he fought on??

I like this... being in pharmacy school though, I immediately thought he was holding an IV bag or something medically related Once I read your description though, I got it. I love the wrinkles in his forehead. Judging by his face, it looks as though he might have seen a lot in his lifetime.

Great shot IMO. A wonderful photojournalistic feel to it. The white bag is quite contrasting on the relatively dark shot, but I think it works. Love the expression, and a great capture as always.

    Impressed,

Hi amithi,,plastic bags in SE Asia are a pain in the butt..They litter the streets,,the rivers and the rice fields..The locals use them to carry everything..Once the bags are used they are discarded on the ground..Before plastic bags it was banana leaves..
