Wow Don, Your making me cold. Here in Georgia we had upper 70's today. I had to turn the AC on. I like this shot a lot, but what is that pole on the left? I can't make out what it is...

Why is the colour balance off, toward the magenta and why do there seem to be "dirt spots" on the sky?

My problem with shooting snow falling is the falling flakes end up looking like grey blotches in the sky part of the image. You have it too in this image. I don't care much for them and can't figure out how to get rid of them-oh well, I guess that is what photoshop is for.

I'm guessing the magenta cast is because you shot it in twilight and the street lights are starting to come on.

Don, this as well as one of the others on your last winter post are shot through a window, it appears. I like the idea of seeing the frost on the glass and it seems to make the image somewhat abstract and painterly in a way. I like effect of the snow/frost on the glass, whether it is on your lens or a window you are looking through. The spots at the upper portion of the frame are distracting somewhat and you could clean that up with your editing software. Also, as noted , the color cast should be corrected and you might find auto-color to be the easiest approach. Keep at these shots through the glass (if thats what they are) as there is much potential with them

Great except for the rain/sheet on the windshield. I really like the muted effect here though.

It was taken through the window of a taxi cab while the snow was coming down.

I don't think the color balance is far off. That's kinda the way it looked. Don't forget the window was tinted.
