    More Trees...

    What can I say...I like trees...lol.
This was actually taken this past August, at a farmstand in Maine.

I think it needs some contrast adjustment? The sky could really 'pop' if there's enough detail in the original!

Agreed, we need to see more detail, the tree in the foreground is lost against the trees leading off into the distance. I like the composition and the tree is beautiful, just wish we could see it a little more clearly.

Herriot and drg, thanks for your thoughts on this...I'll have to play a bit with the contrast and such.

I agree as well. The blacks should be darker. Also mabye crop the left part of the shot off having the tree spill off frame left.

This is very cool! I see what the others are saying about the contrast, but I also think just seeing a larger print, might help. I like the varying textures leading off towards the horizon.

    Re: More Trees...

    Emily -

I too share a love for trees (but I also love the desert, strangely enough). This shot is nice but I agree that it's missing a little interest wrt its surrounding countryside, specifically, what's behind it. You can see that there's distance here, but there just isn't anything back there. Perhaps if the contrast was greater the clouds would help in this respect. I also wish there was some wildlife in the foreground... a deer would have been nice (if you could get one to cooperate).

Btw, the fence is a nice touch, but I've found that wooden ones make better photography subjects. This one looks metal (it's very straight), seems to spoil the naturalness of the area a bit. Just something to keep an eye out for,

GB1...thanks for your comments on this...I was looking to see if I had another shot of this scene, but the only one I have, I really wasn't all that thrilled with...lol. At any rate, I go to this area every year, so maybe I'll have the chance to reshoot.

I do appreciate everyone's thoughts on the shot.
