    More random shots

The first is a totally random shot that I like for some reason (my helmet and gloves). The others are from a short hike I did today. I'm getting better at forest shots, I think. All shots taken with my Sigma 70-300mm DG, with UV filter.

    Re: More random shots

the last two are pretty nice, good lighting and color. they seem to need a little darkning and contrast work.
the third one is just underexposed.

the first one...... i like helmets with faces in em

I like them, I don't see the under expoure in #3. I like the last one myself, the DOF is cool and the angle.

    Re: More random shots

whoa, #1 was confusing, I was like...where's the picture of gloves...then I looked at the helmet shot again...and thought...whoa...where's the face??
--I like that shot, it's kinda disturbing

#2 good composition, but a little dark for me.

    #3 and #4
Gorgeous, serene, i see no flaws, everything works together harmoniously (good word eh?)

You know I could see that last one in a trail magazine.

    Re: More random shots

#1 is a well exposed shot of a helmet (sorry, but it doesn't do anything for me).

#2 is a great shot! It's underexposed just a little and small animals rarely work centered in the frame. The image has a lot of potential. If you crop it, take some off the left and bottom leaving room above and in front of the robin.

#3 this is just personal... swamps equal mosquito's, no animals... doesn't do anything for me.

#4 print large, hang proudly! Gorgeous shot!

    Re: More random shots

Thanks for all. It's always interesting to see what other people like about random shots like these. As for the bird shot, I only had a second to act, and if the shutter were much slower I was afraid of blurring it, especially when zoomed at 300mm (I was at shutter speed 100 I think). The forest shot is also my favorite. As for regular exposure, for some reason I always tend to underexpose just a tiny bit, because from what I've experimented with, doing that gives me better clarity and color in the end in the way I make it work. (of course, the robin was just way too underexposed to begin with - I had to brighten that one a lot before posting it here). Also, I havent cropped any of these shots yet.
I think I'll print those trees out sometime.

EDIT: What's this about a face in the helmet? Something I don't see yet?
