    Don

first impression is that #1 is too cluttered, try cutting out the discs on the left and I think it makes it better but still cluttered, sorry I'm rambling because I can't decide if I like it or not.

#2 the colour is a little too saturated it needs to be toned down just a smidgen to make the photo crisper, or it could be you over sharped the photo thats causing the problem.

#3 Is that ice on the flowers? Sun is a little harsh.

    Re: More Graceful Departure

They're all interesting, but strangely I find # 1 the most compelling. I dont like the red flag in the bottom left part of the shot but the other objects, though adding to clutter, sort of make the shot to me. I guess I see this as a photo which shows man's encroachment on nature...

I was about to say the same thing.... that bush with the pole sticking out of it seems to be yelling "I was here first!"

They all do seem a little over sharpened though, and I think it only really works in the first shot. The second and third could be softened a weeee bit IMO.

    Good stuff, keep 'em coming.

    Re: More Graceful Departure

First is great, reshoot, it's easy to remove stakes from the ground and replace them afterwards. Cropping doesnt cut it (no pun intended) because the railroad lights are essential IMO.

Second. WOW. Nothing else to say but I want more

Third would look great with some level adjustments for more vivid color.
