Interesting coloring. Is the base a mango or alvacado? Time for dinner.

Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

I like that edit, but vignetting suggests an atmosphere that might not mesh with the vibe of the establishment. (Esp. as the food seems to be aiming for clean and modern. . .)

For me, the problem with both this and the last shot is the white plate. I understand that the restaurant dictates the tableware, but perhaps a more vibrant backdrop/tablecloth could add a little depth to the image.

It looks like soft focus or unsharp.. IMO you should invest few bucks on a MICRO lens for thos shoots.

    Still make me hungry... ;)

Yeah, agreed. I think there's a difference between art and functionality, and I tend to lean towards the art side.

Y, I found the comments on the other food posting about tricks of how to make food look good very interesting. Good luck with that though - sounds too much like Frankenfood to me

Hucker,,,The Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 is a macro lens...BTW would my Canon 50mm f2.5 Compact Macro or my Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro do the job??

    Jurgen...

There is a difference between Macro and Micro..

I don't know if Canon makes Micro lenses but Nikon makes some Micro lenses that are extremely sharp and I'm sure that they will make your food shots be more YUMMYS.. ;)

This pic. is with my Nikon 60mm AF-D MICRO at A.2.8 / ISO 1600
Try that with a Macro lens..
    cheers

    ECH, I wouldnt eat that

yogestee, the original is great, I love the brightness, focus, and subject, though a touch tight in the crop.

    Re: More Food

The only thing I see is the DOF is to narrow. The front of the food is in focus but the leaf in the upper back is not. F/8 might have worked better. Nice work GB1, I like your edit.
