    More from 5 alarm fire

These are a couple other ones I like. What do you think of the one with the firemen? I wanted to show them, but I didn't want to get in too close because then you lose the fire.

Good action photos. The bottom one is a bit funny - looks like the cook overdid the QUiznos sub and the place caught fire

These make a nice addition to the first image you posted but aren't as good by themselves. The 3 as a set would be pretty hot (no pun intended).

Of these 2 I like the image of the firefighters on the boom but again I would fool around with the cropping to make them more prominent.

Ya, I was wishing that silly Quiznos billboard hadn't been there. ;-)

So on the second one, where do you suggest I place the firefighters? I was thinking of taking off even more on the right to show more of the fire, but it sounds like you would want them more front and center?

I'd try taking some off the right and bottom so they would be a larger part of the image and that "blank" space would be gone. That stream of water is always going to draw the eye to the firemen so I don't see a problem with placing them on the far right of the image.

Be sure to save the second one here with the George Diamond's steakhouse sign! That is truly one of the great Chicago landmarks of yore.

These are as good as any of the AP shots I saw of the fire right after it happened. You had a great location to shoot from it looks like!

We are losing a lot of these old landmarks in various places, hope it is not all 'contractor lightning'!

Thanks for sharing and glad to see some of my old stomping grounds even if it is going up in smoke.

is it wrong that the first thing that came to my mind in the second one is "Toasted tastes better"

good shots. im just wondering how you got that angle, was it out of your window, or just ontop of a nearby building?

Thanks. I took these from my balcony on the 21st floor a block away. (You can see the wide angle shot in another thread a few down.)
