    Moorhens

While I'm posting bird photo's, thought I'd post these as well.

Most of these were posted in the Nature and Wildlife Forum.

    F5, 80-200mm f 2.8, Reala.

Again, which one(s) appeal to you?

    Hi Speed,

These are also very good. Again, I like the second and the last. The bird has a weird posture in the first one. The colors of the ripples in the water are great for both the first and second. I think some of these shots would benefit from framing the bird more off-center. Also, I think a few of your shots, like the last one in this post, might benefit from a polarizing filter. That would reduce the glare comming off the water, where it's reflecting the bright sky. I wouldn't want to use it where the colors are nice, but where there's just a white glare, I think it might help. Just my $.02

    Good shooting!

    Hey Paul,

I agree with you there! I just haven't bought a 77mm CPL yet. It's on my list of things to get.

When I posted these, I noticed that the birds were too-centered in most of them. That comes from trying to shoot moving targets with my N80. The central focus point is the only one that I could count on to focus fast enough for moving targets. The F5 focuses much faster than the N80, so I need to start using those other focusing points with it.

Thanks again for the comments! I do appreciate them.

I feel your pain when it comes to shooting moving targets. I have an N75, and I do the same thing.

    ;-)

    Misery loves company.

On a more upbeat note, I understand that the N75 is basically the N80 in a different package, and they knocked a few bucks off the price. And don't take the above as a knock against the N80. It is a very capable consumer level camera. The autofocus speed is the only thing I've been disappointed with, but for the price, it is an outstanding camera.

I've got to ask, Which stick? I count three in the first photo.

Let me know which one you find objectionable, and I can attempt to clone it out. Attempt being the operative word. I'm not that good with PS Elements, but I can do simple tasks.

Oh, don't clone it out. I was being semi-facetious as the stick is appears to be....umm....in his....DA. It's like he's skewered or trying to set it free a bit.

    HEHEHEHEHE!!!!

    That cracked me up D!!!!

    :-D

I figured you meant one of the three sticks in the background. I didn't realize you meant the stick it was standing on.

A previous poster (Paul I think) mentioned he didn't like the angle the bird was at. The bird was stepping off the stick into the water when I took this, hence the funny angle, and hence the skewered look.

Thank you for bringing a smile to my face today! Hope it brought one to yours as well.
