Moon over San Francisco

I was lucky enough to have a clear night and a shot at the Golden Gate Bridge with the moon rising over San Fran.... I'm an amateur so I certainly would welcome feedback!

I like this shot! It's a great perspective you've got here and I like how the moon looks golden in this shot, as well as the deep blue of your sky. The photo appears to be slightly tilted on the horizon (the right side looks slightly higher than the left side and I might consider cropping a bit off the right side where it gets dark.

Excellent shot. The complementary blue and orange make a great photo with the added attractions of the moon and reflection. Print that one as large as you can and hang it on the wall.

You know that I'd be the first one to spot a problem...but here goes.


There are some distracting light trails over and throuh the bridge. Stars maybe, or aircraft? Anyway, other than this I think you have a real winner here. I have never seen an image of that bridge that looked quite like that. Nice one.

Level the shot some and straighten the towers, and it may just put it over the top.

Thanks for the great feedback. I took a bit from each of your inputs and adjusted the image in Photoshop. I seem to be limited by the perspective (and the wide angle setting) so I can't get the "leveling" quite right (too much adjustment one way and the one of the towers gets really distorted). I cropped it in a bit and took out some of the sky "halos" (I kinda liked the streaks from the planes though so I left them in).

I took this picture with a Canon Digital Rebel 300D using the standard 18-55 mm lens with a long exposure of 80 sec at f/22 with ISO 100. I was on business travel so I didn't pack my tripod or anything. I was lucky that there was a stump I could set the camera on for the shot.

Anyway, here's the new shot. Thanks again for the feedback!

It's a great photo Erich. I grew up just across the bridge there in SF and spent many a night sitting with my friends just looking at that bridge. Your photo brings up fond memories....

A lovely image and I really like the reflection of the light off the water, great shot!
