    The Moon

    Hello,

Here's the moon. And that's about it!

    Comments, critiques, all accepted.

The main thing I want to know if whether or not this idea works, to just have the moon on the sky, with no other subjects!

    Thanks,

    Jared

    Re: The Moon

I like it as is, no other objects necessary. love the tones and I think I've said this many times, I'm quite in love with minimalism

Edit: only one thing though, maybe if you crop it a bit tighter to make the moon a bit bigger. that's all.

    Re: The Moon

    Dear Jared,

I would have to agree with Lee. If you are going to make the moon the subject without anything else, then make it bigger. Other than that, a good picture. Other things to try are multiple exposures, harvest moons, etc. Good luck.

    Dzerzhinski/LeeIS,

Thanks for the words. I'll have to crop this and try a tighter crop later tonight!

    Thanks,

    Jared

    Hello Jared
Lovely tones and easy on the eye: I see what you are getting at here. I agree with what others have said about cropping and I'm also wondering if this would look good in a portrait style format with less sky to the right.

I like the use of negative space , and I would agree with Tom about this looking better as a vertical shot. Not bad at all , and it does work as it is.

    Tom and Gary,

Thanks for the words and I'm now curious to see what a vertical shot would look like. Would the moon still be in the top left for the vertical shot too?

    Thanks,

    Jared

    Roger, thanks for the words.
It's digital, my film skills are weak and I probably rely too heavily on digital!

    Hello Jared
This is what I had in mind though I have to admit that it's not exactly as great as I imagined it would be. Still think the vertical is better by a little. It's great either way.

Interesting crop. I like it, and think i'll make two copies of it (a horizontal and vertical).

    Thanks Tom,

    Jared

    Re: The Moon

The cropped version really seems to work better for this picture.

What a bout a composite with other phases of the moon added?
