Don, I think in your previous posts you mentioned you use a very special sharpening technique. Normally, the grainyness is not my thing, but for this it gives the picture a very artistic feel, whilst making the picture jump out at you. As for composition I might have zoomed out a bit. Good job on the pic though.

I see a great picture here and hopefully you have the original to tinker with. Two things IMO would really benefit this shot: if the original is a bit wider, meaning this image has been cropped a bit, so you have some room around your primary subjects but also, the extreme sharpening makes this look so heavy. This need to be sharp but I think you went too far.
Just my opinion. Otherwise, this is a really terrific capture.
This was taken with a macro lens that had little room to play with focal length. I was pretty much stuck. It is not cropped. I have another one without the macro lens but i wuld have to severly crop that one. I also did not use my oversharpening technique on this. I learned my lesson. I did sharpen a little. I get a little blue fringing at the edges of this lens so I even did a little touch up to reduce those blue edges. I am a muck-about--that's for sure.
fx101 had a good point. The graininess works well on this one. CF also has a good point about the extra room. All in all though, I like the colors and texture of the shot. Nice work, Don.
