    From Moffett Field

From a lunch time excursion the other day. I managed to get a few shots before the clouds and rain completely covered the place. This is the old airfield where they used to house the blimp/dirigible Macon. It's really looking run-down these days.

    Comments and Critiques gladly accepted.

I like the second bold composition of the second one. Is that a cross on top? Too bad it doesn't face toward you.
The birds make number 3 happen.

Thanks Frog - Yes, that's a cross at the top and I too wish it were facing the other way. I have a couple shots from the front of the building, but I liked the roof tiles leading up to the cross and I didn't have that from the front. On the third one, it was interesting watching the birds flying around this building. The building is enormous and the birds were pretty clearly catching the thermal updrafts from the side of the building. Almost like surfing.

    Oh nice, these look professional.

Did you use a polorizing filter to get that rich sky?
    No, I DON'T need that.

MB - Thanks. Yes, they were all shot with a polarizer.

    Thanks for commenting.

These are all good, PC. I particuliarly like the first one. the deep blue sky and vignetting effect from the polarizer reminds me of Velvia film.
    good strong colors

Gary - Thanks for commenting. I generally like the stronger colors and the polarizer is usually pretty good at providing that.

Based on the comments and limited feedback, I'm guessing that my wife is a better gauge of what will go over here than I am. She was lukewarm on these, while I really like that second one and I like the first one quite a bit. It's all a learning experience, right?
