Re: Creativity or rules_standards

Ronnoco, you have turned what should be a simple debate or constructive dialogue into a mud slinging fest, with you throwing much of the mud. You have even taken shots at me in post #48, unprovoked. My comments and opinions are my own, I stand by them, and so there is no need to defend them. They are simply how I feel and you can agree or disagree. I find myself in disagreement with much of what you critique, and I'm sure it goes vice-versa.
Please find it within yourself to be more tactful and less offensive in your dialogue with the members here.
btw, Leels did not claim that you used a"million filters" if you re read what was written.

Gary, you have lost it!
On the contrary, I have simply reacted to the mud that has been slung at me. I did NOT take shots at you as you well know, so please stop the spin. I pointed out that measuring the gravestone on the ground revealed NO cyan cast and looked white in the image. Can't you accept a contrary finding? Did you take a measurement of the white gravestone on the ground?
Your opinions may well be your own, but if they are strictly opinions and you cannot accept the fact that after checking things out, I have found a disparity with your opinion, then perhaps you should take another look at the photo and perhaps reconsider your
"opinion". I have no opinion. I am simply looking closely at the photo and checking with a variety of software to see if the criticism is valid, relevant, and correctable. I stand by my findings but it is not at all personal or based on opinion. It is based on what my monitor and several programs, histograms etc. show.
If your comments are simply based on how you feel, then you don't understand photographic criticism and perhaps that is due to your artistic and emotional background.
Photography is both artistic and highly technical. I have a background in both and have been involved in both since before you were born. You are too new to the area to adopt an emotional attitude to someone who questions your "feelings", when feelings and opinions should have nothing to do with Photographic Critique.
If you had had more experience with Photographic Critique in a professional venue, you would realize that it is NEVER TACTFUL. The effort of all judges is to be as accurate as possible, to judge solely on technique and composition and to leave personal "feelings" and "opinions" totally out of the picture.
And yes, I did read what Leels wrote and he did mention and imply that I used a "million filters" which was rather silly as I indicated considering I just used ONE. (By the way, are you suggesting that Leels was being "tactful" and "constructive" as you seem to wish, because if you are, then your "feelings" make NO logical sense whatsoever.) I am the one that should be offended.
