    Model Talia

More shots of Talia from the January model shoot.

C&Cs appreciated, esp ideas for adding more impact. The last image is a cut and paste into another background.
    Thanks,

    Re: Model Talia

Thanks fellows. Chaman, next time I see her I'll tell her she has a secret admirer (maybe just in time for Valentine's day). I also like # 3 a lot but didn't know why till you mentioned the hat. Shootme, glad you think that # 4 is OK, it is sort of moody to me and I am still looking for a different crop. I'm undecided on the value of that structure on the right

    I LOVE #3!
The lighting is wonderful and the beautiful back lighting painting her profile gives this a wow factor.
I think also, because she isn't looking at the camera gives this shot more emotion. More of a romantic feel.

    Re: Model Talia

Thks Alison, I agree that # 3 sort of stands out in the group. I think it has more of the classical look to it, perhaps like a Fall catalog ad (or cover?). I am not sure it's as sharp as it should be to print, so will have to take another look at the original.

    Thanks again for your viewpt

    Re: Model Talia

GB - I like #3 best, as well, followed by #2. i really like the lighting on her face and the pose in the latter, though I'm not sure about the comp (right side specifically). I also think it could possibly do with some high pass sharpening. Or something. I would recommend some kind of skin softening, too, but she doesn't seem to need any!

Always like seeing your modeling shots, as I'm trying to learn all I can about that particular neighborhood of photography myself. By all accounts, it's not as easy as it may seem.

    Re: Model Talia

draymorton - Thks. About every shot I have of her she looks soft and unfocused. I think it's her complexion or something .. I know that all the shots can't be off focus (I shoot both AF and manual, depending on the scene).

Not sure where you live, but you might want to check out Meetup.com and see if there's a model/fashion photography club in your area. That's where I shot these and others I have posted .. it's a nice hunting ground (lol). It really helps if the model is experienced btw. Allows you to focus your attention on the photography aspect instead of all the rest.

1 and 5 the same picture?? The pose is dead on and all, but a simple background change maybe?? Either way - nice shots, i think 5 could use more saturation, she looks a bit pale, and #3 is a lil' dark for my taste, but besides that its all quality work

    Re: Model Talia

Kem - Thanks. You're right, they are the same image. I did some PP on that one. I agree with your observations. # 3 is a bit tricky though: if I bump up the density then certain areas seem overly bright. Anyway...
