    Arrow Mismaloya, Mexico

I grabbed this shot of a little village restaurant on the beach in Mismaloya, Mexico, two weeks ago. I didn't have my tripod with me so I propped the camera on top of a wall. I got a tiny piece of the wall in the corner of the shot so I cloned it out in PS and then threw a feathered elliptical vignette around the whole image to get rid of the evidence of cloning and help draw the eye to the center.

    What do you think?

ack! I don't like how that vignette is looking! Yuck! I'll have to go back and redo.

Other than that, what do you think?

On my monitor it is very dark and I can't really find anything to draw my interst. The lighting is OK but, by itself, does not create a strong image for me. Was there something particular that you were trying to catch? I'm pretty much a novice, so don't put a lot of stock in my coments.

I agree with Phoebe that I'd like to see a bit more of the FG details without totally loosing the feeling of the night shot. I think you caught the festive mood.

Here's a quick and dirty curves adjustement I made of a well feathered selection of the foreground. I repeated the adjustment 4 times - I guess you could get the same with one grosser adjustment.
