    Midnight Ride

Trying to put back some mood in my photos. The recent whirlwind experimenting with HDR is hopefully coming to an end. lol. This one is obviously heavily colour corrected. All comments welcome!

I seem to be in a cropping mood today, sorry. Great shot love the light and colour tone. I'd crop the black on the left to the lighted part and bottom to where the light ends.
    Shootme...

I think I'm with Shootme and the cropping suggestion, but I'd rather see those areas lightened up a little instead. I like the composition.

I might have an over active imagination, but I like the dark area on the left, it adds an air of menace.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Thanks guys!

I kept that dark area in on purpose to get the entire shot spookier or more kinda mysterious. your points are well taken though.

Hmm. HDR material I think, though the rocking of the boat(s) would probably make that object soft. If you did do an HDR, I think it would take 2 f stop increments between exposures and/or a 7-9 image run.

I like it as it is, although maybe bring out just a bit more detail in the shadows. . .not hdr though. there is an eerie mood here that works for me.

    Re: Midnight Ride

Dark and sharp - good combo.

It's a different look and I like it a lot. I like yellow and black as the predominant color scheme. I also like that it seems to be the poster child for "anti-HDR." Very dark darks and very bright highlights. I love what's going on at the left of the frame with just a the tiniest bit of illumination on the wall. I love the hints of red in select places.

The one question I have is: did you crop at all? I keep wanting to see more on top. But it's not a big deal.

GB, I was trying to stay away from the direction of HDR in this shot ;) i said so in the description lol. thanks though!

    Thanks Gary.

Seth, I took a tiny bit from left and bottom. Just to get rid of a light that was reflected at the bottom of the water. Yeah very Anti-HDR. hehe. thank u
