    Memorial flags after sunset

This shots deserved it's own thread other than being bunched into the last thread of mine. So here it is again. These are the flags in the cemetery that are at the military memorial. The sun had already gone down when I took this shot, and took this with the afterglow of the sunset. There was also hardly a breeze, so the mood was very calm. I did my best to capture the feeling/mood in this shot. I took this with my newly arrived Sigma 28-70mm, which I was testing out at the time.

I'm glad you chose to make this a stand-alone submission. Certainly worthy of its own thread, and possibly a sticky.

yes its very nice......the saturation of the sky seems right on...very little noise from my view. Did you tweak it at all or is this right out the camera? You should put some of these in your user gallery at better resolution. Nice work!

    Re: Memorial flags after sunset

Thanks for the comments. This shot really turned out better than I thought it would at the time. I do as little editing to my photos as I need to. I never use paintbrush, or remove things from the shot. It has to be a good shot to begin with, with no editing needed, for me to be happy. All I did to this one was adjust the saturation a little bit to make the colors stand out more, as well as a bit of contrast. (I took this slightly underexposed, so I adjusted it to make it look most like it really was) Other than the small adjustments, after resizing the photo to a smaller size, I sharpened it a little bit, since that is normally required. So, to answer the question simply, I didn't tweak it by adding or taking anything away, and only made the colors pop as they should.

I also realized that I dont have a user gallery started yet, and now might be a good time to start that with this photo. Thanks again for the comments, and I'm glad everyone likes this shot so much.
