    Mellow Yellow

I see many different varieties of plants and flowers while walking in the woods, these just struck me.

I don't see why others haven't commented, it has great color and contrast. What I do see as a problem though is at least four different flowers vying for dominance. It's really hard sometimes to isolate one from the others, but I think that in a field of flowers this should be a top priority, so along with color, shape, .. add isolated flower.

Really nice dark background color BTW

I really love the DOF of this one! The colors are great, but I agree GB1 about trying to isolate one single flower as the focal point. Other than that, I think this a great shot

I don't necessarily think you need a single flower (some say it should be an odd number), but I do think that it looks better if each is either in focus or totally blurred. I find the 'near focus' ones distracting. - Terry

Nicely arranged. "Mellow Yellow" was our name for baked banana peels. The myth was that theey would substitute for Marijana when smoked. Oh the 60s.

Thank you everyone for your comments, they can only help me to improve.
Don, as a youth, spending my formative years in the '60's, I now remember that reference.
    Thanks,

    Re: Mellow Yellow

I like this one a lot. I love the composition of the flowers. It has a nice, random, natural feel, as opposed to something too centered and symetrical. Like the butterfly photo I also commented on today, I think it's a bit dark and the color is off. It definitely has nice color saturation but I think it's a bit green/yellow and it feels at least half a stop too dark. That's all easy to fix, though. Give it a color and exposure tune-up and I think you've got one worthy of printing and hanging
