    Megan

just had a shoot tonight, she's not using this photo for her ads, but I liked it so i decided to play around with it a bit. A little over the edge, probably, but I think it's an interesting look.

Definitely edgy. Seems her hair, eyes, and lips really take over the photo. Her eyebrow(s) also play a part. But what I think really takes command is the contrast, which may be a little too much for me (but it depends on how the photo is being used, of course). I think that there may be a little too much of her upper chest shown. But I don't think cropping it owuld work either.. It's almost that she needs a cigarette or something to fill in that space a little (I think the strong lighting causes the feeling of vastness there).

Anyway -- like you said, it's edgy. Almost seems like she's an actress in a play that's about to begin?

thanks for the reply GB. ironically enough, she is an actress. And the photos we did were for her play. I agree about the chest crop, I'll think of that next time. If you saw the original photo you wouldn't believe its the same one...

I love your lighting and your conversion. However, I think the conversion has left a hot spot on her nose and forehead. That's fine if that's the look you were trying to acheive though.

I agree about her chest. Maybe a vigniette would fix that. I seem to be doing alot of vignietting these days. I should cut down but I can't help myself lol.
And I don't know about you but her chest looks a little green to me.

The lighting on her hair is GORGEOUS! Highlighting her ringlets. Stunning!

As for the crop, unusual to find the eyes in the centre of a photograph but it works here for me. And I love her expression!

Despite any negative opinions I may have about this portrait I still love it Brent. Great work!

I like this portrait better than the long rectangular one you have posted.

I like this one better. Very sexy. I don't think there is to much chest or background. It works fine for me.

I agree with the the hotspot on her forehead. It also appears to me that there is some PS work done on the right side of her forehead? Something about it just doesn't seem right?

    Re: Megan

thanks everyone for the comments. Yes, the hotspot is the biproduct of the extreme contrast boost.

Alison, yes, noticed the green cast, have been meaning to correct it but just haven't really had the time lately. exams will do that to you. My first thought was vignette too but it looked strange to me for some reason...maybe ill go back and play around with it a bit more later.

Greg - Nope, no PS work done on the forehead, except for minor blemish healing. I'll post the original soon, and you can see the before and after. Are you commenting about the wrinkles on the forehead?

It's interesting how some people like this one, some people like the other one...

    Re: Megan

I have no problem with the chest area; just enough below the hair length.
I do find some distortion left side of her forehead and her left eyebrow seems so high. The furrows in her forehead one would imagine should also be visible across the forehead but I might be wrong here. The hot spot maybe looses the furrows.
Having said all that I do actually like it.

I hope the two tone neck with the slight green hue is not natural.
