    Hmm. I think I would crop this shot from about the top down to ~ 3/8ths of the image. The bottom is the sharpest and most interesting, so just focus on that. It's lack of color and an obvious focal area hurts it somewhat, but it is what it is: An abstract. More DOF might help too.

    I see you're shooting a D300. You will have enough resolution to crop exactly the top half of the image so you end up with a landscape shot that captures the most interesting parts. In the future stop down to f/10 to f/12 for a nice deep DOF so everything (troughs included) is in focus. It's abstract, but think about either zooming in A LOT and looking at foam bubbles or zooming out A LOT to get a larger perspective so the viewer has a specific object or point to look at.
