    May your travels be safe.

walking the puppy this afternoon, beautiful weather out, a special offleasth dog park, not far from the airport ,i see this passenger airliner streaking across the heavens and not a sound it makes, other than the two trails left behind its wake,I ponder on how it must feel to be so high up in the sky, 45 years old and i have never been in a plane, nor a train. this was taken with my d50 and 55-200mm vr lens, handheld and cropped on the computer.Ilike the lines and how the plane forms a arrow so to speak, and placed one thirds of the print, other than that i'm not sure how i could perfect this image ?.

nice shot....must be a wonder, having never been on a plane.....think about your most vulnerable moment and multiply it by 100, thats how it feels. Just to think there are about 150 people on this plane, that looks like a paper cutout against a blue backdrop, is amazing. I like this shot alot......what an amazingly clear day

I like this shot too. Very simple. Might benefit from a bit more contrast and a bit of noise reduction in the blue sky, but that's it.

I just read a book and the author says a great image doesn't have to be perfect

But, if you insist, how about some noise reduction?

I like your crop placing it in the upper right corner. Nice composition.

I think it works quite well. Btw, I've only flown once and that was in 1972. Last time I was on a train was in 1968. I did do some Greyhound last August and flying or training don't look so scary anymore.

I like the shot, but would agree on the noise reduction. I have to confess that it's strange to hear your comments about never flying. I travel fairly frequently for business and could not honestly tell you how many times I have been in a plane. I would have to get my calendar out to even get you a reasonable approximation for the last year. I guess it's fun the first time or two, but after that it's like riding in a bus.

    polarbear,

I too like this shot very much. I could sit and look at it for some time. I am more intrigued by the fact you have not ever been on a train than the plane. You should give it try sometime, both. The train is a real fun experience. Nice shot regardless.

I really like this shot a lot. It is a very simple shot, that made me ponder for awhile about how meaningless we really are and how small we are. Because like Dubbs5050 said, "there are about 150 people on this plane, that looks like a paper cutout..." With that in mind how small is one of those 150 or how every many they cram onto those planes? Just a speck.

noise reduction a must. it makes the sky look grainy. Otherwise...BEAUTIFUL! I really dig the almost ghost like appearance of the plane.
